ICMPD strengthens Iraq – Lebanon cooperation on border management

Baghdad, Iraq/ Beirut, Lebanon: On the 22 March – 1 April 2021, cooperation between the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and Iraq Border Management authorities was facilitated by ICMPD through a joint initiative to develop the operational and training expertise on document security and identity. The cooperation also promoted the role of local actors in developing intra-regional solutions to capacity development in the area of border management.

ICMPD hosts document security training for frontline officers from the Afghan Border Police Force

Kabul, Afghanistan: On the 29th March – 1st April 2021, ICMPD hosted a basic level training workshop on Document Security. The workshop was attended by 27 frontline officers from the Afghan Border Police (ABP), Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Afghan National Police Department (ANPA). The workshop was conducted by a selection of trainers with international experience.

Vienna, Austria: On 24th March the Budapest Process held a webinar on Understanding and Explaining Attitudes to Migration in the Silk Routes as part of its implementation of the adopted Call for Action. Dr James Dennison presented the report “Understanding and explaining attitudes to migration in the Silk Routes and South Asian countries: the state of the art and recommendations for next steps”.
