Erbil, Iraq: ICMPD was delighted to hold their third training session in Iraq for the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MOLSA) on 16-17 February in Erbil.
Baghdad, Iraq: On the 31 January, ICMPD delivered ten Thermal Cameras to the Border Points Commission (BPC) in Iraq. The cameras were provided in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and will assist border officials in their ability to detect travellers potentially infected with the virus at nine border crossing points in Iraq.
The overall aim of this information and awareness-raising campaign is to convey objective information about the dangers and consequences of irregular migration as well as communicate about options for legal migration and labour migration in order to counteract misinformation.

Islamabad, Pakistan: From the 18-29 January 2021, ICMPD hosted two Advanced Document Security Training workshops for the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) of Pakistan in Islamabad. The training workshops were held for 19 FIA Officers stationed at airports in Islamabad, Peshawar, Karachi and Lahore across consecutive weeks and aimed to expand upon the knowledge participants had acquired at previously attended training workshops.
Islamabad, Pakistan: The overall objective of this new project is to sensitise and empower potential migrants to make informed decisions about migration, particularly irregular migration, and in turn contribute to reducing irregular migration towards European and other destination countries.

Vienna, Austria: ICMPD has been chosen to implement a range of new projects in the Silk Routes region on migration management. These activities will cover knowledge and capacity-building; as well as awareness raising on the risks of irregular migration. This work will be focused on Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan, while projects will last for between 12 and 24 months.
Islamabad and Lahore, Pakistan: Have you seen all five episodes of the "Life of Migrants" series? Here Pakistani migrants share their personal stories of good and bad migration experiences. This is a collaboration between the Migrant Resource Centres (MRCs) of Pakistan and TCM to raise awareness on safe and informed migration while warning of the risks associated with irregular migration.
Dhaka and Cumilla, Bangladesh: In the continuing effort to promote safe migration, the Migrant Resource Centres in Dhaka and Cumilla, Bangladesh, conducted several orientation sessions and workshops at the grassroots level. In January, six sessions were conducted at the union level (the smallest and lowest political unit in Bangladesh) such as Boxnagar, Chandura and Isapur. Members of Union Parishad, local officials and elite persons, returnee migrants, and local NGO partners participated in the workshop.

This covers short and long term technical assistance, where our grants have been spent, the results delivered by our Migrant Resource Centres (MRCs), the materials we have produced in the region, protection of migrants rights (MIGRA.P) and regional law enforcement cooperation (RELEC).
Dushanbe, Tajikistan: On 18-21 January, ICMPD paid a visit to Dushanbe to further develop the Migrant Resource Centre in Tajikistan together with the Ministry of Labour, Migration and Employment of Population who is hosting the Centre.
