Iraq Chambers of Commerce in Erbil and Basra hosted a large multi-stakeholder meeting to support ICMPD work on sustainable reintegration

Erbil and Basra, June 2022. Denmark supports Pakistan to strengthen rights based border management capacities of Federal Investigation Agency

Islamabad, 7 June 2022. The Embassy of Denmark in Islamabad together with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) launched a new project, namely “Rights Based Border Management in the Silk Routes Countries”. The project aims to support the Government of Pakistan to implement sustainable, rights based border management practices in the area of document security and control of national borders.

“Public-Private Sector Partnership for Reintegration” set-up in Bangladesh

Forty two government, civil society and private sector organisations in Bangladesh signed a pledge on 25 May 2022 committing to contribute to the timely, comprehensive and sustainable reintegration of returning migrants.

The signing is part of the Public-Private Sector Partnership for Reintegration in Bangladesh initiative that aims to provide employment, skills, finance and other needs to returnees for their economic reintegration.

Istanbul, Turkey: On 25th and 26th April 2022, the closing conference for the “Improving Migration Management in the Silk Routes (IMM)”project is taking place in Istanbul, Turkey. This event is bringing together participants from the European Commission, European Union member states as well as representatives from Silk Routes and Central Asian Countries. This includes Bangladesh, Iraq, Pakistan and Tajikistan, as well as civil society organisations and ICMPD.
