Forum on appreciating the value of savings

Cumilla, Bangladesh: To celebrate the birth centenary of the Father of The Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the District Employment and Manpower Office and the Migrant Resource Centre in Cumilla organised a forum with around 200 prospective migrants to discuss the legacy of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The event coincides with the National Children's Day celebration for 2021. The forum discusses the need to learn and appreciate the value of savings among children, especially those who are receiving remittances. The goal is to ensure that the hard-earned money of migrant workers will lead to the development of the migrants’ family, community and nation. This was a vision held by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the first President of Bangladesh and assumed office in 1971.

The MRCs in Dhaka and Cumilla are funded by the European Union and Switzerland and implemented by ICMPD.
