10 000 information brochures handed over in Tajikistan

Dushanbe, Tajikistan: Our Migrant Resource Centre (MRC) has handed over 10 000 information brochures to the Migration Service of the Ministry of Labour, Migration and Employment of Population of the Republic of Tajikistan. These information brochures were developed upon the request of the Ministry in the framework of the ongoing information campaign to inform Tajik labour migrants to register in the Russian Federation and regularise their status before 15th June.

Thousands of information brochures will be distributed across the country through the district offices of the Migration Service and religious leaders/institutions in cooperation with the State Committee on Religion. In the framework of this information campaign MRC supports the Ministry of Labour of Tajikistan in the development and production of animated video footage that will be aired on national TV as well as shared via social media, an SMS campaign, radio announcements and posters.

In the framework of “Improving Migration Management in the Silk Routes countries” project, funded by the European Commission, ICMPD aims to reach out and inform over 200 000 labour migrants from Tajikistan. The goal is to reach them through family members in Tajikistan so they can be educated about regular, safe and orderly migration as well as the necessity to adhere to rules and regulations in countries of destination.
